Dr. Marwa Batnini is a postdoctoral researcher at the Laboratory of Legumes and Sustainable Agrosystems, Center of Biotechnology of Borj-Cédria, Tunisia. Her research focuses on plant–microbe interactions and the development of bio- and nano-based fertilizers to enhance crop productivity, stress tolerance, and disease resistance within sustainable agriculture systems. After completing her engineering degree in agronomy, she obtained a PhD in Biological Sciences from the University of Tunis El Manar, where she investigated the tripartite interaction between Medicago truncatula, symbiotic bacteria, and pathogenic fungi. She has been actively involved in several national research projects addressing crop improvement and sustainable management under abiotic and biotic stress. As an ICGEB Arturo Falaschi SMART Fellow, she carried out research at CEPAMS Shanghai, focusing on transcriptional regulation of leghemoglobin genes in legume nodules. Her current work integrates plant physiology, molecular biology, and nanobiotechnology to develop nano-biofertilizers for resilient legume-based agroecosystems. She has authored and contributed to several publications on plant–microbe interactions, stress physiology, and sustainable crop production.
