Abeer Saqr is an accomplished agriculture and climate change specialist with over 15 years of experience in food security, regulatory affairs, quality management, and sustainable agriculture. She has held several senior roles at the Ministry of Agriculture in Jordan, including Head of Accreditation and Quality Department and Head of the Animal Products Department, where she led national policies, accreditation systems, and compliance frameworks aligned with international standards such as ISO and GMP.
Abeer has extensive experience working with international organizations including FAO, IFAD, and the World Bank, contributing to major projects in water productivity, climate change adaptation, food safety, and agricultural extension. Her expertise spans strategic planning, stakeholder engagement, program management, and designing capacity-building programs for farmers, technicians, and institutions.
She holds a Master’s degree in Climate Change, Sustainable Agriculture and Food Security and a Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Food Technology. Abeer is recognized for her leadership in agricultural development, winning the Khalil Al Salem Award for Best Agricultural Extension Program and leading several impactful national initiatives focused on sustainability, women’s empowerment, and environmental resilience.
