Dr. Abeer Aburumman is a molecular biologist at the National Agricultural Research Center (NARC) in Jordan, where she serves as Head of the Molecular Biology Department. She holds a PhD in Plant Molecular Biology from the University of Jordan, where her research focused on comparative transcriptome analysis of durum wheat under water deficit conditions. Her scientific expertise encompasses molecular breeding, transcriptome analysis, genetic fingerprinting, and biosafety of genetically modified crops.

Dr. Aburumman has played a pivotal role in strengthening the research infrastructure at NARC, particularly through leading efforts to qualify and develop the Molecular Biology Laboratory and mobilizing resources to seek accreditation for the detection of genetic modification residues. Owing to her extensive experience, she is recognized as a national expert in molecular diagnostics and biosafety and contributes to several national committees concerned with biosafety regulation and policy.

In addition to her research and leadership responsibilities, Dr. Aburumman is actively engaged in capacity building and knowledge dissemination. She leads training programs and awareness initiatives aimed at advancing molecular biology and biotechnology practices within local communities and academic institutions. Her commitment to scientific excellence and sustainable agricultural development continues to enhance Jordan’s standing in the field of agricultural biotechnology.
