Prof. Ramia Al Bakain is a Professor of Analytical, Environmental and Bioanalytical Chemistry at the Department of Chemistry, University of Jordan – Jordan.

She holds a PhD in Analytical and Bioanalytical Chemistry from Sorbonne Université- Pierre et Marie Curie and ESPCI Paris PSL, France. She is working at the University of Jordan, where her duties include teaching Analytical Chemistry courses and supervising Master and PhD students.

Ramia’s research focuses on the impact of using analytical chemistry for developing new methods in water-agriculture-food security for sustainable application in saving natural resources. She has wide international scientific collaborations with USA, France, Germany, and Lebanon. She received many awards and fellows, some of them are: The Elsevier Foundation-ISC3 Green & Sustainable Chemistry Challenge award, TWAS Young Arab Scientist Prize in Scientific and Technological Achievement in Agricultural and Environmental Sciences, Fulbright Post-Doc fellowship, L’Oréal-UNESCO For Women In Science award, Post-Doctorate Award from SRF- Jordan, DFG Fellowship from Germany, TWAS Prize for Young Scientists in Developing Countries, and many other awards.
