Dr. Maria Bourquia is an Assistant Professor at the Parasitology and Parasitic diseases unit at the Agronomy and Veterinary Institute Hassan II (IAV Hassan II), Morocco. She is specialized in Veterinary Entomology. She obtained the Diploma of Veterinary Medicine in 2016 from IAV Hassan II, then defended her PhD thesis in co-supervision between IAV Hassan II and Montpellier Supagro in 2019 on the dynamics and distribution of Culicoides, vectors of viruses of economic interest in Morocco. Dr. Maria Bourquia obtained the Diploma from the Pasteur Institute of Paris (France) on "Insect vectors and transmission of pathogens" in 2018. She is currently preparing a University degree (Diplôme Universitaire - DU) at the University Paris-Est Créteil (France) on Tick-borne zoonoses in a One Health context.  The research activity of Dr. Bourquia is focused on vectors (Culicidae, Culicoides, sand fly), vector born-diseases (leishmaniasis, dirofilariasis), parasitism in captive wildlife and veterinary dermatology.
